Voodoo Vaudeville was formed in 1999 and since then under the direction of Chris Cresswell has established itself as a prolific theatre company mixing art forms such as music, contemporary dance, physical theatre, puppetry, cabaret and installation art.
The company consisting of a multi talented team of dancers, choreographers, physical actors and artists has created a hugely diverse body of work ranging from 2 person cabaret sketches to a 15 person multi-arts collage.
Voodoo Vaudeville has a residency at the Komedia in Brighton as well as a touring show and several small-scale street theatre performances and dance works.
The underlying policy of all these projects is to stretch expectations of the respective art forms by simple juxtaposition in an accessible environment. This creates a vibrant mix of art forms and cultural references, which attracts a variety of audiences and defies classification.
